Rod Buck, President

Rod Buck was appointed President of The Columbia Group on October 4, 2005. With more than twenty years of corporate executive experience, his background is characterized by successful leadership of medium sized critical-stage companies that are rapidly growing. His experience spans information technology and government services companies. He has had unique success with domestic and international acquisitions, business integrations, divestitures, financings, recapitalizations, joint ventures and new business initiatives.

Mr. Buck began his career as a CPA in a large national accounting firm and has several years of successful investment banking experience in the government services industry. He led four businesses through critical-stage transitions (troubled debt, seed stage and high growth) to successful growth strategies. He managed, negotiated or implemented over twenty successful M&A transactions as well as he directed over fifteen equity and debt financings. He designed and executed rapid-growth strategies for two early-stage enterprises that enabled one to go public and the other to gain a global leadership position in its market.

Mr. Buck is professionally active in corporate growth, mergers and acquisitions and government services organizations. He is a member of a non-profit organization, the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) where he has served as President and Director of the Board. He is also a member of the Professional Services Council and an active participant in multiple community organizations supporting the Washington DC area visually impaired, homeless, and church communities. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of Vista Technology Services.
