Washington, DC (August 5, 2008) – Since June 16th, 2008, The Columbia Group (TCG), a technical support services company for the United States Military, has assumed the operations of AMSEC Rosenblatt’s Washington DC office, a division specializing in naval architecture and marine engineering. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
AMSEC Rosenblatt’s Washington DC office, which is now the TCG Rosenblatt Ship Design Division, expands The Columbia Group’s naval architecture and marine engineering capability, providing ship design for whole and auxiliary ships systems. “With this transaction, The Columbia Group takes one more step towards achieving its vision of becoming a leading technical support services company to the U.S. Military” stated Rod Buck, President of The Columbia Group.
M. Rosenblatt & Son was founded in 1947 by the late Lester Rosenblatt and was acquired in April 2000 by AMSEC LLC. “We are pleased to have joined The Columbia Group,” said Barry Capelli, Vice President of the TCG Rosenblatt Ship Design Division, “And we are already expanding our reach beyond the Washington DC area.” The TCG Rosenblatt Ship Design Division also strengthens The Columbia Group’s customer base with its various contracts with the U.S. Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command (MSC), and the U.S. Navy.
