TCG History

The Columbia Group was founded in 1967 by Dr. Norman Witbeck as Columbia Research Corporation (CRC). Throughout the years, Dr. Witbeck led CRC in supporting several military programs with expertise in engineering, logistics and acquisition. Our sister company, Computer Products, Incorporated (CPI) was founded in 1985 by Martin Arase. Throughout its history, CPI has supported military department CFO's with financial management professionals and underlying management information systems. Today, we are proud to present ourselves as The Columbia Group.

On June 15th, 2008, the new TCG Rosenblatt Ship Design Division (RSDD), consisting of over 700 man years of ship design experience, became part of The Columbia Group (TCG). TCG RSDD's capable professionals brought with them a strong naval architecture and marine engineering legacy, stemming from over 30 years of support to military customers in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
