The Columbia Group

Committed to Excellence, Dedicated to Customers

Logistics Management > Total Life Cycle Systems Management

As the volatility of combat logistics in the operational area has increased, The Columbia Group (TCG) has positioned itself to provide our customers the interdisciplinary approaches now needed to resolve the variety of acquisition, distribution, and operations conflicts endemic to a rapid acquisition and resource challenged environment. The Total Life Cycle Systems Management (TLCSM) of a system from inception and design to disposal and retirement is a framework within which we operate and excel.

TCG has kept pace with the transition from simpler technologies and processes to highly developed and complex systems and operations. We are structured to provide the adaptive solutions and handling required from "cradle to grave" in a logistics landscape dominated by accelerated growth in the number and complexity of military systems and operations.

Establishing key performance parameters for Performance Based Engineering (PBE) and Performance Based Logistics (PBL) needs, TCG provides syntheses between wartime and peacetime requirements that consistently meet defined qualitative and quantitative goals for strategic, operational, and tactical elements at all levels of the entire life cycle.

Our Expertise

  • Rapidly mobilize the resources needed and develop quantifiable outcome-oriented performance metrics
  • Deliver successful performance based outcomes for our customers to ensure the military capabilities required are sustained, regardless of the program strategies
  • Successfully provide extensive long term experience and management support for the Navy's Inactive Ships and disposal programs for vessels at the natural end of their life cycles
"Logistics... embraces not merely the traditional functions of supply and transportation in the field, but also war finance, ship construction, munitions manufacture and other aspects of war economy."

– Lt Col George C. Thorpe, Pure Logistics, 1917
